Back in the year 1450 Johannes Gutenberg discovered that he could print a book using metal type that could move instead of just one woodcut that was fixed in place. This flexible system helped to speed up the process of printing a great deal leading to the invention of the Gutenberg Bible that created the means through which printed matter could be disseminated at a fast pace helping to bring about both the Renaissance and the Reformation periods.
