As we enter 2011 it is time to look over the many different contemporary media platforms that are quickly emerging into the marketplace presenting many opportunities and equally frustrating challenges as businesses work at ways to make full use of all media platforms. The new forms of media are hard to group into one category, although many of the different platforms include in game marketing, video, mobile, email marketing, and podcasting.
With these new media platforms comes the challenge of integration given that many businesses and agencies operate without the primo state of the art technology in place, which makes it harder to translate their business onto the new media platforms that it is quickly becoming a necessity to market on. With this in mind, most businesses need to learn how to manage their brand and its subsequent placement on new platforms such as broadband video and iTV.
There is not much time left to debate the challenge because as these new platforms quickly become consumer’s top choice due to ease and availability brands that do not adapt will be left behind while the more innovative brands take over as market leaders.
